Desmond Bane hit a crazy three-pointer to help the Orlando Magic notch a 115-112 win against the Portland Trail Blazers, much to the delight of the home fans watching at the Kia Center.

The Portland Trail Blazers erased a nine-point deficit to take the lead. Paolo Banchero converted a layup but missed his free throw that would’ve given them the advantage after the foul. However, the Orlando Magic star made amends by stealing the ball from Jrue Holiday in the ensuing possession to set up the final play.

“It was a rush of excitement, for sure, especially for me, him saving my ass like that,” Banchero said of Bane via Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel. “I didn’t want to make it that exciting, so I was glad that he made that shot and saved me missing those free throws. He’s a big-time player.”

“He just stayed with it the whole game, and coach drew up a good play, gave us multiple options, found Desmond, and he knocked it down,” he continued.

During the postgame presser, Desmond Bane admitted he couldn’t believe his game-winner against the Portland Trail Blazers. He also said he hopes the shot will serve as an inflection point for the Orlando Magic’s 2025-26 campaign.

“It was hard to process it really until like everything kind of slowed down. It was a back-and-forth game down the stretch, got close, got crazy, and we needed that one, for sure,” Bane explained.

“It just brings teams together,” he continued. “You need those moments throughout the season… They all matter and lead to something bigger down the road.”
