The Orlando Magic have secured an integral cog in their long-term project. According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Orlando Magic agreed to sign Jalen Suggs to a five-year, $150.5 million contract extension.

Jalen Suggs is coming off a career season in 2023-24, where he averaged 12.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.4 steals while shooting 47.1 percent from the field and a career-high 39.7 percent from three-point land in 75 regular season appearances.
He played a huge role in the Orlando Magic’s first playoff run in four seasons last year, as they took the Cleveland Cavaliers to seven games in the first round. Suggs was also a member of the NBA’s All-Defensive Second Team, highlighting his growth as one of the league’s top 3-and-D players.

With Jalen Suggs, Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner, and Cole Anthony, all of whom are 24 years old or younger, the Orlando Magic have an intriguing young core to work with in the years to come, as they try to contend in the much-improved Eastern Conference.
