“Love When A Former Teammate Joins Me”: Paige Buekers, Azzi Fudd Show Intimate Mirror Selfie Moment Reuniting From Their Busy Schedules

Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd carved their names into basketball folklore side by side at UConn, and while the game continues to pull them in different directions, the bond clearly hasn’t budged.

“Love when a former teammate joins me,” Paige Bueckers wrote, as the pair posed for a mirror photo during a rare hangout in the middle of their packed calendars.

The image wasn’t staged to impress. It didn’t need flash. It simply showed two friends who’ve been through the grind together, reconnecting in a quiet moment far from the glare of packed arenas and postgame cameras.

Since their freshman year, Paige Bueckers and Fudd were as synonymous as assists and buckets. They weren’t just teammates. They read the floor the same way, thought two plays ahead, and often looked like they could swap jerseys mid-game and no one would notice.

Injury setbacks and separate paths have slowed their time on the floor together, but not their relationship. These little check-ins, like the photo Bueckers posted, feel less like nostalgia and more like a pause. A breath. A reminder of roots.

And if Paige Bueckers gets her way, that won’t be the last time they suit up on the same side. Maybe not in Storrs, but somewhere down the road.

It’s not just highlights and hugs keeping Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd close. Turns out, Fudd might be the quiet influence behind Bueckers’ growing WNBA sneaker rotation.

In a quick interview, Paige Bueckers let it slip that her longtime friend has taken on an unexpected role off the court.

“Azzi picks most of my fits,” Paige Bueckers admitted, smiling when asked about her go-to kicks for game days. “She knows what works and what doesn’t. She’s kind of like my stylist when it comes to shoes.”

It’s a role Fudd clearly embraces. Their long history at UConn wasn’t just about chemistry on the court. It was also about trust, and that connection shows even in the smallest choices: like which sneakers make it into the locker room.

For Paige Bueckers, comfort and performance matter, but so does expression. And when the WNBA cameras start flashing during tunnel walks or warmups, having someone like Fudd help nail the look adds just a little extra confidence.

The basketball world is waiting to see what Paige Bueckers will bring as a pro. But if Fudd keeps styling her steps, she’ll probably be breaking ankles in more ways than one.
