Draymond Green has seen enough — in his eyes, the Paige Bueckers era is already here.
On August 22, the Warriors forward jumped on Threads after spotting an ESPN post celebrating the WNBA’s 2.5 million attendance mark this season. What caught his eye wasn’t the number but the choice of photo — a shot of Bueckers.
“So I just came across this post on ESPNW IG… and I found the picture interesting. Is there a shift happening?” Green wrote.

The reaction came fast. Fans, insiders, and media voices all weighed in. ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne pointed out that the bump in numbers shows people are finally catching on to how good the women’s game is. Green pushed back, saying his point wasn’t about the league overall. It was about Paige.
“I’m speaking more about Paige. They spoke of all time attendance and showed Paige, who plays for Dallas but doesn’t have top 3 in attendance. Is Paige quickly becoming the face of The W?”

Bueckers entered the league with plenty of hype after leading UConn to a national championship and going No. 1 overall to the Dallas Wings. So far she’s been as advertised, putting up 19.4 points, 5.1 assists, and four boards a night even while the Wings struggle in the standings.
Jason Kidd Shows Up for Paige Bueckers
Even in a loss, Paige Bueckers pulled big names. During Dallas’ 90-81 defeat to the Golden State Valkyries, Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd sat courtside right behind the Wings’ bench, getting a close look at the rookie.
He’s not the only Maverick who’s shown love. Kyrie Irving, Brandon Williams, and Olivier-Maxence Prosper have all been spotted at Wings games this season.
Paige Bueckers might only be a rookie, but when you’ve got Draymond Green calling you the future and NBA coaches sitting courtside to watch, it’s clear her presence already reaches way beyond Dallas.
