Paige Bueckers continues to prove she belongs in the WNBA spotlight. In her third matchup against the Minnesota Lynx, the Dallas Wings rookie dropped 17 points and showed noticeable growth in her game. Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve didn’t hold back in her praise.

“I mean, she plays mostly off-ball,” Reeve said. “They’ve sort of figured that out with Paige. You know, there are times when she initiates, but you know, they really use her more off-ball. They’ve really navigated her best spaces well. Clearly she likes to post up”.

Paige Bueckers has become the Wings’ most reliable scorer, and her ability to adapt has caught the attention of veterans and coaches alike. Reeve added, “She’s very much improved from the first time we saw her in terms of how she gets her scoring attempts. She learned how much the team needs her to take shots. It’s almost like Phee in 2023 when we were like, you’re going to have to take 20 shots and you’ve got to figure out how to get them off”.

Learning how to lead, how to read, and how to find yourself in a need. Elements of the game that Paige Bueckers is trying to master in order to keep her among the elite. She’s already got game with her off-the-ball movement, timing, and confidence. Her role right now is beyond what rookies expect in their first year duties.

With each game, Paige Bueckers is becoming the face of the Wings’ rebuild. Her name is becoming synonymous with growth, grit, and game-changing potential.

Cheryl Reeve Says Paige Bueckers Has “Figured Out” the League in Her Rookie Year

Paige Bueckers is turning into big a problem for defenders. After her third game against the Lynx, Cheryl Reeve made it clear that Paige Bueckers is adjusting faster than expected.

“I think Paige is gotten really shifty,” Reeve said. “You know, getting defenders up and getting to her sweet spot, you know, so it’s not just make one move, you know, so she’s figured out the league pretty quickly. And, obviously, she was tough cover”.

Paige Bueckers can handle pressure and find ways to score. Her footwork, patience, and ability to draw contact have improved noticeably since her debut.

In just a few months, Paige Bueckers has gone from learning the ropes to setting the tone. Her performances are very commanding. Coaches like Reeve are already treating her like a veteran, which speaks volumes.
