Paige Bueckers‘ arrival at the Dallas Wings months ago gave everyone huge expectations, but unfortunately, most of them have yet to happen. One of those is a chance for a playoff trip this season, although their chances this season are now next to none. Still, she remains hopeful and confident of the Wings’ unmatched potential and progress

Via an interview with Joey Mistretta on Sunday, Bueckers recognizes the potential of her team, from rookies to veterans. She fully trusts the squad to help everyone, especially her, the team’s cornerstone, fully flourish.
“Very exciting. I think we have a really good young core, we have great pieces to build around, good complimentary pieces… We got veterans, so a mix of both. And I think we’re all really excited that the front office has doubled down on who we have here right now. I think that’s what we’re gonna build around. So, the future is exciting,” Bueckers said.
The theme around the Dallas Wings from people I’ve talked to around the team as well as the players is that there is true excitement for the future.
Has the 2025 season brought challenges? Yes, but it’s also been a rebuilding year. The Wings believe in what they are doing and…

Averaging 18.5 points, 5.3 assists, and 4.0 rebounds this season, Paige Bueckers’ status as a rising star in the league is in no doubt unquestionable. For most fans, she is the only one bringing the Wings into relevance; after all, it’s often disappointing to look at a team with an 8-24 record. Moreover, other than Arike Ogunbowale, no one has been truly stepping up for Dallas.

However, the Wings aren’t silent either. In fact, they had been making bold moves in the past weeks, most recently when they traded DiJonai Carrington to the Minnesota Lynx in exchange of two youngins and a draft pick. The team is locked and loaded for the future, with Paige Bueckers leading them hopefully to a deeper run in the following seasons.
Paige Bueckers makes it clear on prolonging her WNBA career
Speaking after Sunday’s game against Washington, Paige Bueckers opened up about managing the heavy demands of her career and health. As the lifeline of the Dallas Wings, Bueckers had played nonstop throughout this season, but she suffered a back injury in the past weeks.
“I have to put my body first and prioritize that, while also being a competitor who wants to play in every single game,” Bueckers said. “Rest and recovery are the most important parts during this slow stretch of the season. It’s about finding the balance in all these things.”

Paige Bueckers might be one of the greatest of her batch, but she isn’t invincible, and the Wings know this. Their next target: the Indiana Fever on Tuesday.
