Paige Bueckers is finally officially drafted by the Dallas Wings, and one new teammate is already excited about what she could bring not only to the court but also to the locker room fashion.

In a post on X, Wings star DiJonai Carrington expressed her excitement over having Paige Bueckers as a teammate. More than her court skills, Carrington is excited about the fashion statements Beuckers could bring to the locker room.

She said in her post: “lawddddd the femme’s finna be owwwwt in dallas this summer 😭😭😩😩 they better keep it cute thass all I know 🤣🙂‍↕️”

DiJonai Carrington also plays for the Dallas Wings, along with NaLyssa Smith, who she is in a relationship with. They were brought to the team as part of a four-team trade during the offseason, and their presence is expected to strengthen the Wings’ roster.

Paige Bueckers gets Picked By Dallas Wings as Overall No. 1 Pick

Finally, after almost a year of being projected as the overall No. 1 pick for the draft, Paige Bueckers gets officially drafted by the Dallas Wings as, as everyone had expected, the overall No. 1 pick for the 2025 WNBA Draft.

In a statement, Dallas Wings general manager Curt Miller likened the draft day to Christmas, knowing that they would finally get the chance to sign Bueckers for their roster.

“Very early on, it was Paige and Paige only,” Miller said. “She’s such a special player.”

“The conversations [with the Wings] were brief, but just for them to know that I am coming in and wanting to give everything I have to that organization,” Bueckers said. “Dallas is a sports city, so I’m super excited for the support, the new wave of being there, being in a new city, being with a new team and conquering those challenges as a group. We’ve got great pieces, a great ownership, great GMs, great coaches. The entire organization from up to down, I’m extremely excited for it.”

“You don’t ever want to assume anything in life. Nothing is guaranteed, so for this moment to be here and it to actually happen, it’s nerve-racking,” Paige Bueckers said about being selected No. 1. “You just have a level of excitement, nervousness, bittersweet feeling knowing that my journey at UConn is over but excited for the next one to begin. To be able to share that moment with the people sitting at my table and also the people not sitting at my table, they played a huge role in it.”
