Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young dunked on Patrick Beverley’s legacy in the NBA by pointing to his lackluster legacy. He went factual with his take on Beverley’s 12-year NBA career.
“We don’t even gonna talk about how we celebrate play-in wins. I won play-in games on the road and I’m ready to get to the playoffs. You win play-in games at home and stand on the scorers’ table acting like it’s a championship,” he said in a 12-minute video.

Young’s words were in response to the former Los Angeles Clippers’ statement suggesting he had a better career than him and that he had no rights to talk to him.
“I don’t think he’s won enough to even speak to me,” Beverley said in his podcast.
“He’s been to the playoffs three times. I’ve been to the playoffs nine. My first seven years, I didn’t miss the playoffs at all.”

These statements garnered wild reactions from basketball community with the consensus saying Beverley is overreading his own legacy. Even Kevin Durant had to react and went on the side of Ice Trae.
Patrick Beverley double down on Trae Young
Some would have thought that the word war should end with Young’s last salvo but knowing Beverley he will refuse to go down.
Beverley has always been a competitive player. He can go head to head when it comes to trash talk on the court and with all the time he got now, he will not let Young’s words slide.
In another fiery commentary, he said Young’s leadership is awful and that he is the reason personnel from the Hawks get fired.

“I hope this is so f***ing motivating that it takes you to the ECF… I like to see you at halfcourt shivering them little a** shoulders. But don’t get it twisted Trae…You don’t win. People get fired.”
He also explained that his criticisms are valid since the four-time All-Star is yet to win anything in his career.
“You haven’t done anything, so until you’ve done something,” he added.
“Yes, you should be criticized. And you should appreciate it because the criticism isn’t coming from someone who hasn’t played. It’s coming from someone who has shared the floor with you and left a mark in the NBA. Miss me with that. You the fastest player to 12K points, and fastest to 4K assists. And you get scored on the most in the NBA. Empty stats.”
