Imagine Kevin Durant and Shaquille O’Neal becoming one and their NBA skill sets retained. Boston Celtics legends Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett thinks what you will get is San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama.

“He’s changing how we look at the post position,” Garnett in a conversation with Paul in their podcast titled The Ticket and the Truth.
“If you think about it, he’s mixing finesse and force at the same time. He looks like KD and Shaq mixed together.”
Forecast of Wemby’s bright future is well-documented and he has been living up to it so far. He is an All-Star in just his second season and was the frontrunner in the Defensive Player of the Year Award last season but then he had to be shut down by February due to injury.

The pre-season saw him go all over the world, talking to legends, to improve his game. He got those learnings tested in the pre-season and for many, what he showed means scary hours for the NBA.

Victor Wembanyama can still get stronger
Wembanyama learned footwork from Houston Rockets legend Hakeem Olajuwon. He is not yet done learning as it was reported that he also reached out Garnett. However, their workout did not happen.
“We didn’t do anything,” Garnett said in the show. “He wanted an exchange, and it was more like some intro s***. He’s on a journey to seek knowledge.”
The Spurs star got the drive and passion to get better. That’s one admirable trait. Next up for him, according to Pierce, is to become like Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Truth even think that becoming an imposing presence physically is what will unlock his greatness.

“The only thing stopping him, that he gotta do is get stronger. Because he got all the game. We saw with Giannis, once Giannis got stronger, look what he turned into.
“He getting the knowledge.”
Antetokounmpo, like Wemby, started as a lanky projected. He even played shooting guard in his first two years. Now, he is one of the greatest players of all time and is capable of tearing apart defense on the post, no matter who that is.
