In the latest NBA mock draft, the New Orleans Pelicans are predicted to pick the promising talent of Ace Bailey from Rutgers. The 18-year-old forward brings an enticing combination of size and skill that has garnered significant attention leading up to the 2025 draft.

Bailey stands at 6 feet 10 inches and weighs around 200 pounds, giving him an impressive physical profile for his position. His standout performance throughout the season, including an average of 17.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game, highlights his capability as a versatile player on both ends of the floor.

Despite a season cut short by injury, Bailey has impressed scouts with his shot-making ability and defensive instincts. His potential has drawn comparisons to established NBA stars, making him a valuable asset for teams seeking to bolster their roster with young talent.

As the Pelicans look to build a competitive team, Bailey’s unique skill set aligns perfectly with their needs. His ability to stretch the floor with shooting and create scoring opportunities positions him as a significant contributor in their offense, complementing the existing core.

Bailey’s stock is rising and the Pels are predicted to pick him soon. This is detailed in an analysis by Jonathan Wasserman for Bleacher Report.

USC ended Ace Bailey’s season early, but it was a productive one (17.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.3 blocks) for one of the draft’s youngest prospects whose 6’10” size, shotmaking and defensive playmaking remain highly enticing.

He’s still become somewhat polarizing due to some wacky shot selection, tunnel vision, poor assist-to-turnover ratio, low free-throw rate and disappointing 69.2 free-throw percentage.

However, there are areas where Bailey will need to improve. Concerns about his shot selection and assist-to-turnover ratio have been noted, but these are often expected from young players adjusting to the collegiate and professional levels.

Overall, the decision to draft Bailey reflects the Pelicans’ commitment to investing in young prospects with high ceilings. As the NBA continues to evolve, securing a player with Bailey’s combination of height, versatility, and potential could be a game-changer for the franchise moving forward.
