The Golden State Warriors aren’t giving up on their championship dreams and still believe they can contend for an NBA championship. The Warriors want to maximize having Steph Curry on the team, and while he’s still producing at an elite level. Although Curry is 37, the star point guard is still the clear leader and superstar for Golden State.
On Tuesday, the Warriors finalized the contract negotiation with Jonathan Kuminga, who agreed to sign a two-year, $48.5 million contract. Following the move, the team can finally bring in the other players they signed during the offseason, Al Horford and De’Anthony Melton. Golden State also signed unrestricted free agent Seth Curry to the team.
With the moves they made, the Warriors believe they can contend for the Larry O’Brien trophy, despite having one of the older rosters in the NBA.

There are still a few believers in what Steph Curry and the Warriors can do in the competitive league. Kendrick Perkins, a former NBA player, stated that given the club still has the best point guard on the roster, they shouldn’t be written off.
In the recent episode of ESPN’s “NBA Today,” Perkins said that he still believes the Warriors can contend with Curry.
“I would never go against the light-skinned brother with the green eyes, especially with him having Jimmy Butler alongside him,” Perkins said.
Last season, the Warriors were still one of the top teams in the playoffs. They finished with a 48-34 record as the seventh seed in the Western Conference. Before the Minnesota Timberwolves eliminated them in the semifinals, they sent the Houston Rockets home after seven games in the first round.
During that span, Steph Curry averaged 22.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.1 assists on 40% shooting from deep.
Steph Curry talked about the team’s offseason moves

The Warriors weren’t as active as the other 29 teams during the offseason. Mostly, it was because they were focused on the contract talks with Kuminga. Amid the negotiation, Golden State signed Horford and Melton to the team.
During the Media Day on Monday, Steph Curry gave his take on the team’s roster.
“I think with this last little piece that needs to settle, I think I’m extremely happy with a different look,” Curry said. “We’re just trying to carry the momentum that we had from last year, understanding getting through an 82-game season is the challenge for every team, but especially a veteran team.”
It’s a new look for Curry and the Warriors. With the signing of Horford, the Warriors’ age was pushed, making them the second-oldest team, behind the Los Angeles Clippers.
