The Philadelphia 76ers know that their time with Joel Embiid still at his physical prime is dwindling by the hour, and they’re making all the possible moves that could make them better in the next couple of years.
One of the moves they’re trying to orchestrate is bringing over a third star that could take the pressure off Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. While Zach LaVine would be a terrific option for them, the Chicago Bulls may ask for a king’s ransom before they hand the two-time All-Star over.
Paul George is another path they could take, but murmurs surrounding PG13’s possible move to the Bay Area may kill off their chances of bagging him.
While they’re struggling to find a star to complement their duo, the Sixers front office focused their attention in the 2024 NBA Draft.
They hoped that Jared McCain would provide scoring and energy off the bench when they selected him with the 16th overall pick. Based on his reaction, he may be eager to prove to the team and the rest of the league that he belongs.
Jared McCain gets emotional after the Philadelphia 76ers pick him in the 2024 NBA Draft
The NBA had plenty of posts about the first night of the two-day NBA Draft, and all of them showed compelling stories of players finally seeing their dreams come true.
McCain was one of the players highlighted, and the Duke star’s reaction to his selection was wholesome to see:
What a moment 🥲

Looking at his performance for the Blue Devils, McCain is expected to become a reliable contributor to the Sixers’ guard rotation. In his lone year at Duke, he averaged 14.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.1 steals a game on 46.2% shooting and 41.4% from deep.
If his reaction is anything to go by, Philadelphia 76ers fans can expect Jared McCain to give everything he’s got to help the Sixers win games.
