Philadelphia 76ers head coach Nick Nurse recently dropped a positive health update on Joel Embiid, although he sounded noncommittal about whether the All-Star center is ready by training camp.

Speaking with reporters this week, Nurse assured Philadelphia 76ers fans that Embiid has been working relentlessly behind the scenes and that he has the full backing of the organization.

“All the news is positive. I know he’s working very, very hard, and I think things look good. Whether he’s ready for training camp or not, I think there’s maybe a lot more decisions than that to make before we get there. But our main thing is that he’s healthy to play and play to his nearest capabilities,” Nurse said about Embiid via talkSPORT.

Embiid only played 19 regular season games last season, averaging 23.8 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 4.5 assists on 44.4 percent shooting from the field, due to his lingering knee injury. If he can return to form and stay healthy, Philadelphia can make noise in the Eastern Conference this upcoming season.

Philadelphia 76ers News: Tyrese Maxey can’t wait to play with Joel Embiid again

Tyrese Maxey recently appeared on The Deep 3 podcast to talk about several basketball topics. During his interview, the Philadelphia 76ers guard gushed about Joel Embiid’s skill set.

“This dude is special… I’m just blessed to be a part of some of the best moments of his career, and I can’t wait to see him get back out there,” Maxey said about Embiid.

Philadelphia 76ers fans would want to forget the 2024-25 campaign. After finishing with a 24-58 record, the team received the third overall pick of this summer’s NBA Draft, which they used to select VJ Edgecombe.
