The Philadelphia 76ers remained undefeated, following a 136-124 home win over the Orlando Magic on Monday night. Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe received the most plaudits after combining for 69 points, but Kelly Oubre Jr.’s two-way performance shouldn’t be overlooked.

Oubre finished with 25 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, and two blocks on 9-for-16 shooting from the field in 40 minutes of action. After the game, the Philadelphia 76ers forward drew praise from his peers.
“That was one of Kelly’s best games, if not his best game as a Sixer, man. He was awesome right from the beginning. He spent a lot of time guarding Banchero, right? Giving away, I don’t know, 50 pounds, maybe? Just kept battling him. I mean, it’s tough. Banchero kept putting his body on us a lot. We were trying our best not to foul him. We did a decent job in the second half of not fouling, but it kinda led to some easier baskets, too, but Kelly had a great game,” head coach Nick Nurse said via Ky Carlin of the Sixers Wire.

“It’s super important,” Edgecombe added. “Kelly is part of the team. Every night, we know that someone can step up any given time. He stepped up in the past two games, hit a clutch shot also in Boston. Credit to Kelly, man. He worked hard and it’s showing right now.”
Philadelphia 76ers News: VJ Edgecombe dishes on playing alongside Tyrese Maxey
The Philadelphia 76ers are off to a strong start, as Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe have been playing out of their minds recently. While speaking to the media, Edgecombe said he is enjoying the experience of being teammates with Maxey.

“Super fun guy to play with. It’s a must-win every night (with Tyrese). Got to go out there and win, man. He’s elite, man. He’s a real leader. Credit to Tyrese,” Edgecombe said in his postgame interview.
The Philadelphia 76ers will be aiming for their fourth consecutive win when they visit the Washington Wizards at the Capital One Arena tomorrow.
