The Philadelphia 76ers were extremely busy during the NBA offseason. Heading into the 2024-25 campaign, they will open up the year as one of the top potential NBA Finals contenders in the Eastern Conference.
Led by Joel Embiid, the 76ers will boast a new-look lineup.
Paul George was arguably the biggest offseason acquisition for any team. He will give Embiid a new-look running mate that should fit extremely well alongside him and Tyrese Maxey.
Not only did Philadelphia add George, they also brought in Reggie Jackson, Eric Gordon, Caleb Martin, and Andre Drummond.
With all of that being said, the 76ers are receiving some major praise ahead of the start of the season.

Now that the season is right around the corner, Bleacher Report took a look at the five most improved teams from last year to this season. Of course, they had Philadelphia on the list.
“This is the best Sixers team Joel Embiid has been on, and even on nights he is resting, they have the tools to win games without him. Don’t overthink the 76ers. They will be better this season.”
Simply adding George would have made them a better team. However, the additions of the rest of the impact players that they brought in make them a very formidable threat.
It will be interesting to see how the new-look team gels together. If things go according to plan, the Philadelphia 76ers could very well have the deepest team in the NBA. They also have an extremely talented starting lineup.
Right now, they are projected to start Maxey, Kelly Oubre Jr., George, Martin, and Embiid. That starting five should be able to compete with any other team in the league.
Fans are hoping to see this year’s version of the Philadelphia 76ers finally live up to the hype. The franchise has had talented teams over the last few years, but haven’t gotten the job done in the playoffs. They also need Embiid to stay healthy, which has been a struggle in recent years.
Hopefully, with all of the work that the front office put in during the offseason, the 76ers will be much improved. The moves will also give them a good chance to be a much better team int he playoffs than they have been over the last few years.
