“This Would Sound Like a 50-Win Team” – Philadelphia 76ers Draw High Expectations From Analyst This 2025-26 Season

The Philadelphia 76ers plan to bounce back after a forgettable 2024-25 campaign, and one NBA insider believes they can turn their fortunes around this upcoming season.

After winning only 24 regular season games last year, the Philadelphia 76ers could double their win total because they have a stronger squad on paper, following the moves they made this offseason.

“Their franchise player won MVP two years ago and is just 31. Their No. 2 option is a 24-year-old All-Star with dazzling quickness, playmaking skills, and scoring touch. That duo is flanked by a nine-time All-Star who, at age 35, can still score and defend at a high level,” Howard Beck wrote on The Ringer.

“They had one of the NBA’s top rookies last season. They just landed another potential star with the third pick in the draft. Their rotation features a nice mix of youth and experience, all managed by a head coach who won a championship just six years ago. Remove the names, reputations, and, well, myriad other concerns, and this would sound like a 50-win team, maybe even a contender in a weak Eastern Conference,” he added.

Philadelphia 76ers predicted to keep important restricted free agent

Dan Favale from Bleacher Report recently predicted that the Philadelphia 76ers will eventually reach a compromise to re-sign restricted free agent Quentin Grimes to a four-year, $67 million contract this summer.

“Grimes, 25, clearly doesn’t have any suitors to leverage against them, and accepting the qualifying offer poses all sorts of risks. Chief among them: Seeing his role severely compromised by a healthier depth chart this coming season that torpedoes his market value next summer,” Favale wrote.

“This dance between player and team is giving off an air of inevitability. Grimes and the Sixers will reach a multi-year agreement, with some team flexibility, that guarantees him a notch above mid-level-exception money,” he added.
