The Philadelphia 76ers secured a 115-103 win against the Brooklyn Nets to end their two-game skid, but they lost a key frontcourt player in the process. On the night Paul George and Adem Bona returned to the lineup, Andre Drummond sustained a knee injury and left the game in the second quarter.

Before this, Drummond was filling in well for the injured Joel Embiid, averaging 10.4 points, 13.1 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game while shooting 54.5 percent from the field in the last 10 games. Last night, he posted seven points and four rebounds on 2-for-2 shooting in 11 minutes.
“It sucks. That’s all I can say. It really sucks. You don’t want to see none of your teammates get hurt. So, we’re just gonna pray for him and hope he gets back fast,” Tyrese Maxey said of Drummond via Ky Carlin of the Sixers Wire.

“He’s been consistent. He’s been where we struggle at rebounding. He’s been a big boost there, and stretching the floor out with his corner 3s. I feel like he’s been so consistent for us. So, it is tough, and I know that injury. I know that injury very well,” George said. “It’s a tough rehab. I don’t know the severity of it, but hopefully it wasn’t the case that mine was, because it’s a challenge. The hyper extension is a challenge.”
Philadelphia 76ers News: Rival scouts see bright future in Tyrese Maxey
Given Joel Embiid and Paul George’s injury history, the Philadelphia 76ers will rely heavily on Tyrese Maxey if they are to succeed this season. And with VJ Edgecombe as his backcourt mate, several scouts believe that the team is in good hands for the foreseeable future.

“Another scout compared Edgecombe’s fit alongside Maxey to the one the Golden State Warriors enjoyed with Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. And while they cautioned not to expect the same path as the one blazed by the two future Hall of Famers with four championships together, the idea of an explosive lead scorer next to an elite two-way sidekick is a fun place for the 76ers to start,” ESPN’s Tim Bontemps wrote.
“Those guys are pretty good together,” a West scout said. “They work well together because they can both do a bit of everything.”
