The Philadelphia 76ers have some of the most passionate fans in the entire NBA. This is exactly why it came as a surprise that the Wells Fargo Center was flocked by New York Knicks supporters in Game 4 on Sunday. So much so, that at certain points in the contest, it felt like a home game for the Knicks.

Sixers superstar Joel Embiid isn’t at all pleased by these developments, especially after seeing his team lose 97-92 to fall 1-3 in the series.

After the game, a dejected Embiid could not help but share his honest reaction to the amount of Knicks supporters that were in their home building on Sunday. Embiid made it clear that he wasn’t calling out the Sixers faithful, but the reigning NBA MVP just had to share his brutally honest reaction to the anomaly:

“Disappointing,” he said, via Ian Begley of SNY. “I love our fans. Think it’s unfortunate and I’m not calling them out, but it is disappointing. Obviously you got a lot of Knicks fans and they’re down the road and I’ve never seen it, and I’ve been here for 10 years. Yeah, it kind of pisses me off, especially because Philly is considered a sports town. They’ve always shown up and I don’t think that should happen. Yeah. It’s not okay.”

Unfortunately for the Sixers, they might not have a chance to play on their home court again this season. This series now shifts back to Madison Square Garden in New York for Game 5 with the Knicks having a golden opportunity to close the series out.

Knicks big man Isaiah Hartenstein definitely took notice of the fans that traveled to Philadelphia to support their team. According to New York’s starting center, Knicks fans are a “special” bunch:

You can be sure that MSG will be absolutely rocking in Game 5.
