Quentin Grimes has played a key role in the Philadelphia 76ers’ 9-7 start this 2025-26 season, as he’s off to a superb start in his first full season with the team.

Before last night’s 127-117 loss against the Miami Heat, where he filled in for the hurt VJ Edgecombe in the starting five, Grimes averaged 16.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 4.1 assists on 47/40/83 shooting clips in 31.8 minutes off the bench (15 games). Those numbers should at least put him in the early Sixth Man of the Year conversation.
“Nah, not really. Nah, because when you start thinking about stuff like that, then you can get lost in everything, you start losing the focus on the game and stuff like that,” Grimes said of the Sixth Man of the Year award via Ky Carlin of the Sixers Wire. “So you just worry about going out there and winning and doing everything to impact the game, and that’ll take care of itself if that happens.”

In his first game as a starter this season, Grimes produced 15 points and three assists on 6-for-14 shooting from the field in 35 minutes of action.
Philadelphia 76ers News: Jared McCain produces best outing of the season vs. Miami Heat
Jared McCain was one of the Philadelphia 76ers’ bright spots in last night’s defeat against the Miami Heat. The sophomore combo guard had 15 points on 5-for-11 shooting across 26 minutes off the bench.

“I mean, it definitely felt the best,” McCain said of his performance. “I think each game is just getting more reps on the knee and more reps of movement. I felt really good today.”
“I felt like I got a little burst from my first step and, yeah, just continuing to build off each game, and the more minutes I play and the more time I’m in, I feel like, get more reps up. I felt really good, though,” he concluded.
