Philadelphia 76ers let fans have a sneak peek of the team’s practices on Tuesday through their X account featuring Joel Embiid, Paul George, and VJ Edgecombe. Not seen on the post were some role players including Andre Drummond and Kelly Oubre who recently were named in trade rumors.

Drummond and Oubre have to step up last season with the injuries to their key players. However, it seems their time with the franchise is about to come an end as they try to get better, having missed the playoffs last season.
Oubre probably got wind of this trade rumor as he released a statement expressing his disdain over the development. He thought his effort for the team is not being returned.
“I love Philly, but the love doesn’t seem to be reciprocated,” he said as reported by Philly Sixers Galaxy.

“What happened to this place? And for those saying I’m garbage because my 3% went down. Still put up numbers and l’d Still cook you. I played through finger surgery’s on my (left hand) thumb and pinky for three years, but still put my soul in this shit. That’s one thing only GOD can take from me. Hope to see y’all soon. Godspeed.”
What’s the plan for Kelly Oubre?
Oubre averaged around 15 points in both seasons he played for the Sixers. He also averaged 13.3 ppg for them in the 2024 playoffs.
However, that might not be enough for them to keep him. Another player weighs more for them.

Rumors claimed the Sixers want to let Oubre and Drummond go so they can sign Quentin Grimes who they acquired in the middle of the 2024-25 season. The 2021 pick more than doubled his output from his previous team (Dallas Mavericks) by averaging 21.9 points per game. He also had career highs 5.2 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.5 steals.
This move, however, is against what critics think of the Sixers’ upcoming season. The team’s frontcourt will be impaired if ever Oubre and Drummond leaves as they are already lacking big men.
