According to the long-time Philadelphia 76ers reporter, the team is keen on offering Maxey a five-year, $205 million max extension because they have his Bird Rights and can go over the salary cap to sign him.
The 23-year-old guard won the Most Improved Player of the Year award in 2023-24, averaging 25.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game while shooting 45 percent from the field in 70 regular-season games (70 starts).

His numbers improved across the board in the postseason, averaging 29.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 6.8 assists per game on 48/40/89 shooting splits, while taking over as the team’s primary ball-handler.
Philadelphia 76ers plan to build around Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid
Tyrese Maxey is not the only Philadelphia 76ers star who will get the bag, as the team is planning to offer a three-year, $193.5 million extension to Joel Embiid this summer.
According to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer, the 2023 NBA MVP would make $59.7 million, $64.5 million, and $69.3 million during the three years of the new extension.

However, the only concern about Joel Embiid is his injury history, as he has missed 336 games since getting drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2014 NBA Draft.
With Maxey and Embiid being the cornerstones, the Philadelphia 76ers plan to build around them via this summer’s NBA Draft and free agency. The team will pick 16th and 41st in the draft and could have around $65 million in cap space.
They also plan on bringing in a third star alongside Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, and they have identified Jimmy Butler, Paul George, LeBron James, and Brandon Ingram as their top targets.
