Tyrese Maxey has blossomed into a franchise player for the Philadelphia 76ers. But with it comes the responsibility of carrying the team every game, leaving the fans concerned about his workload.
This season, the Philadelphia 76ers guard averages 39.9 minutes per game. Paul George said he has advised Maxey of his heavy minutes and is confident the one-time NBA All-Star can handle it.
“He’s handled it great,” George said of Maxey via Sixers Wire’s Ky Carlin. “I’ve talked to him a little bit. Some ideas that I think could help him off the court with recovering, so we’ve talked away from here, on some things going forward, but he’s handled it great.”
“He comes in, he gets his work, he takes care of his body,” he continued. He does his recovery stuff, and then just mentally, he’s in a great place. So, him you don’t really have to worry about. He’s gonna do what he has to do. I call him a warrior, man. He’s a warrior, so he’s gonna figure it out. He knows what he has to do.”

Philadelphia 76ers News: Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid on the injury list vs. Indiana Pacers
The Philadelphia 76ers will play the Indiana Pacers on Friday night after a five-day break, and the team has four notable players on the injury report. Kelly Oubre Jr. (knee) and Trendon Watford (adductor) are out, while Joel Embiid (knee) and Tyrese Maxey (illness) are expected to suit up.
According to head coach Nick Nurse, the short break has certainly helped recharge their batteries, with Embiid and George as the prime beneficiaries.
“I think they really give them a chance to, again, I think we have a number of guys. Obviously, those two guys probably are at the top of the list that are still looking for rhythm/conditioning, but more so probably rhythm. I think it’s always a combination of those two things and they had two good days,” Nurse explained.
