Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker said he plans to recruit Stephen Curry back to Nike after the Golden State Warriors star wore his Book 1s during Thursday night’s 99-98 home win.
“He’s in sneaker free agency right now, so I know he’s been doing his rounds. He’s been having a theme with every city that he’s playing against. The day after he’s done with Under Armour, he asked for a few pairs, and obviously I sent him all the hot ones, and I was happy to see him in them tonight,” Booker said of Curry.
“100 percent,” he added on recruiting Curry via AZ Central’s Duane Rankin. “Whoever gets him, that’s a global icon. Has fanbases all over. We know how popular Steph is, and has always been.”
Curry did have an off night against the Phoenix Suns while wearing the Book 1s, as the four-time NBA champion only had 15 points on 3-for-13 shooting from the field to go along with nine rebounds and seven assists.

Phoenix Suns News: Devin Booker “not mad” at Dillon Brooks’ late Flagrant 1 foul vs. Golden State Warriors
Dillon Brooks got into some trouble, as the Phoenix Suns forward earned a Flagrant 1 call late in the game against the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night. With 38.3 seconds left, he hit Stephen Curry’s stomach after contesting his three-point attempt when Golden State was trying to catch up, which made the game closer than it should.
“We’re not mad at Dillon. We’re asking him to bring that energy, bring that fight every night. On the other hand, there’s going to be times like this, but it can be controlled,” Booker said of Brooks.
“We love everything about Dillon. That edge, that competitive spirit. He’s the fire starter in all that we do. We follow his lead. We’ve just got to get to the edge and not go over,” head coach jordan Ott added.
