Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns tried to make a push to be in the Play-In Tournament. However, their efforts weren’t enough and late as they are close to getting eliminated out of the Play-In race. On Sunday, Booker had one of the best performances of the 2024-25 NBA season in a 112-98 loss against the New York Knicks. He finished the game with 40 points and four rebounds on 16-for-29 shooting from the field.

Booker was the only player for the Suns who scored over 20 points. The player who scored the second-most points against New York was Bradley Beal, who had 16 points and four steals on 42.1% shooting from the field. For Phoenix, only three players scored double-digits.

Even with his efforts, however, the Suns still have no hope to be in the postseason. Still, fans had something to say about his performance against the Knicks.

“I mean KD out Beal ass SG1 has no help,” a fan said.

“I usually prefer players to stick with their original team, but I’m all for Booker leaving Phoenix,” one fan commented.

“Booker needs to force his way out of phoenix,” another fan said.

“Needs to leave that team now that KD ruined it”

“Suns are mailing in the rest of the season.”

“Sheesh, Booker’s got the bag but the team’s struggling. What’s the fix?”

“Trade Beal please he don’t deserve to be around Booker.”

“He is playing good not getting support from his teammates”

“The worst attacking team in the NBA. Even with KD. What a waste season.”

Phoenix Suns head coach wants the team to focus and avoid getting out of the Play-In Tournament

The head coach of the Phoenix Suns, Mike Budenholzer, didn’t mince his words when addressing the state of the team. The Suns are almost eliminated from the Play-In race and Bud wants the team to fix their focus on their game against the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday.

“We’re down to four games,” Bud said. “We just got to focus on Golden State. Focus on Tuesday, getting a win. If we can get some wins going down the stretch here, see what happens with those other guys. That’s all you could do is go to Tuesday and get ready for that and take care what you can.”

"I thought we were very, very close to getting over the hump for most of the 4th quarter. We needed to make one more play."

They have four games left before the end of the season and are 11th in the Western Conference with a 35-43 record. Phoenix has to win all their remaining games to have a spot in the Play-In Tournament.
