The Phoenix Suns will enter the 2025-26 NBA season with lower expectations after the team moved on from Bradley Beal and Kevin Durant. However, Jalen Green, acquired from the historic Durant trade, said that the fans and the media shouldn’t write them off.

Speaking ahead of their preseason game against the Brooklyn Nets in Macau, the Phoenix Suns guard made the brazen claim that the team will shock a lot of people this year. In their first preseason game, the team beat the Los Angeles Lakers 103-81 on October 3.

“I think we can be a lot better than last season,” Green said via Gautam Varier of Fadeaway World. “You don’t have bad thoughts or anything like that of what they were I think.”

“Us in bringing the camaraderie, the unitedness of the team, and just how we play and stuff like that. The energy, the youthness, the excitement, I think we’ll bring that back to Phoenix. It’s gonna be fun,” he added.

Phoenix Suns News: Devin Booker embraces the challenge of leading the team back to the postseason

Devin Booker extended his stay with the Phoenix Suns by signing a two-year, $145 million contract last July. With Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal no longer on the team, Booker is expected to shoulder the heavy scoring load, which he doesn’t mind taking on, especially after missing out on last season’s playoffs.

“This past summer was too long for my liking, not being in the playoffs. I’m eager to get back to it. I’m excited. Obviously, we’ve had some changes with the roster,” Booker told the media via Duane Rankin of AZ Central.

“We’ve had some changes with the coaches. So think it’s a big responsibility for me to be a leader and continue being a leader and getting everybody on the same page so we can start this thing off the right way,” he concluded.
