Phoenix Suns head coach Jordan Ott went scorched earth on the referees after their 106-102 home win against the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday, as he felt that they didn’t do enough to control the game.
The chippiness between the Phoenix Suns and Brooklyn Nets had been building, and it culminated in a late-game altercation involving Egor Demin and Dillon Brooks, when the former shoved the latter to the ground after a battle for the loose ball.
“We get to a certain point, and this is where the frustration has come from our team this year as I’ve felt. We play hard. We don’t flop. We don’t embellish, and when that gets brought into the game, and when we feel that, that creates frustration for our guys, for me, for all of us… Again, it’s extremely hard to officiate. It’s extremely hard to play through some of that. That’s where I felt it from us the most,” Ott told Duane Rankin of AZ Central.
“When we start to really get frustrated is when some of the reactions of an action out there, whether it’s embellishment, whatever you want to call it, that’s what happens, and that’s what I saw tonight. I saw that tonight. We were able to figure out a way to come out with a victory, but again, great credit to the resilience of this group,” he ended.

Phoenix Suns News: Grayson Allen doubles down on Jordan Ott’s rant about the officiating
A total of six technical fouls and two Flagrant 1s were called during the Phoenix Suns’ win against the Brooklyn Nets last night, which would’ve been avoided if the referees asserted their authority, per Grayson Allen.
“As the game went on, the line between a no-call and an altercation got really, really thin. We had three really good officials tonight, but that’s how the game has trended a little bit this year. That’s going to happen when we allow that physicality from both sides, both teams, there’s no way to not have an altercation like that,” Allen stated.
“We’re a team that’s not afraid of that. As the line of the game and how it’s called keeps moving, we’ll move right with it. We’re not going to back down from that,” he added.
