The NBA has released the punishments for players involved in the brawl that happened during Monday’s game between the Detroit Pistons and Charlotte Hornets. Jalen Duren and Moussa Diabate got into a heated altercation, and Miles Bridges got involved. Isaiah Stewart also found himself in the scuffle after leaving Detroit’s bench.
According to the league, Stewart will be suspended for seven games. The reasoning behind the big man’s punishment was based on his history of scuffles and altercations. Hornets’ Bridges and Diabate received a four-game suspension, while Duren will be out for two games.
The suspension for Stewart and Duren will start on Wednesday against the Toronto Raptors.

Following the league’s announcement, coach JB Bickerstaff revealed his thoughts.
“I guess you can understand it from the leagues perspective. This is my personal opinion, I would have preferred to see Stew’s number be less,” the Pistons coach said.

Stew may not be a star, but he’s an important piece to Detroit’s success this season. He’s appeared in 48 games, averaging 10.0 points and 5.1 rebounds. He’s also the team’s physical and defensive enforcer.
Bickerstaff also commented on the team’s negative image and reputation due to the past scuffles, mentioning Stewart and Duren.
“It’s disrespectful to those guys. Both of our guys are elite big men.”
Pistons’ Jalen Duren can still play in the All-Star Game despite suspension
The league’s suspension won’t stop Jalen Duren from being part of the All-Star festivities. According to NBA insider Chris Haynes, the Pistons big man can still be allowed to play in his first All-Star Game. Haynes reported this before the NBA’s announcement.
“Detroit Pistons star Jalen Duren will be allowed to participate in the All-Star Game this weekend if he’s hit with a multiple-games suspension, sources say,” Haynes reported.
Following the All-Star break, Duren will miss the team’s bout against the New York Knicks on Feb. 19.
