Scoot Henderson has been upgraded to doubtful to play against the Phoenix Suns tomorrow, as the Portland Trail Blazers reportedly went through a full workout on Monday, following a serious hamstring injury.
During a recent interview with Joe Freeman of The Oregonian, the Portland Trail Blazers‘ third-year guard declared he’s ready to play and he “feels amazing.” He added that returning to the court tomorrow would be ideal since he would be celebrating his 23rd birthday.
“Just another stepping stone, another obstacle that God has prepared me (and) thrown at me to give me the courage and strength to get past. I give all my worry to him and feel great at the end of it,” Henderson said. “Now we’re here, time has passed, and, like I said, He just pushed me through all those nights where I’m just frustrated and asking why. But, like I said, just giving my words to Him. I feel amazing.”
“I’m giddy,” he added. “I’ve been giddy this whole season. I’m just ready for another opportunity to show what I’m capable of, for our team to show what we’re capable of. It’ll just feel good, to play again, man.”

Portland Trail Blazers News: Tiago Splitter provides optimistic Scoot Henderson update
Portland Trail Blazers acting head coach Tiago Splitter doubled down on Scoot Henderson’s optimism, saying that the former third overall pick is close to playing for the team again after a long hiatus.
“He’s a little behind Blake (Wesley),” Splitter explained. “But very, very soon, I think, we’re going to see him playing. He was playing in those contact games — three-on-three, four-on-four, five-on-five — and this morning he was sprinting all over the court. So he’s getting there.”
Henderson’s return couldn’t come soon enough for the Portland Trail Blazers, given their growing injury list that also includes Damian Lillard (Achilles), Matisse Thybulle (knee), Deni Avdija (back), and Kris Murray (back).
