Former Indiana Pacers star Reggie Miller had nothing but love for WNBA star Caitlin Clark on Wednesday. The Indiana Fever star made her debut during NBC’s “Basketball Night in America,” covering the contest between the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. During the broadcast, Miller made a bold claim about his status as a shooter in Indiana.

Clark is arguably the face of the WNBA. Her ability to shoot has transformed the league and has also gained her more fans in the process. The squad has had to relocate to a larger location on many occasions throughout her first two seasons with the Fever. Fans want to see how she dominates the floor.

Miller has been retired since 2005, and Clark has taken over as one of the best athletes in Indiana. During the broadcast, the Pacers legend had the ultimate compliment to the WNBA star, as well as NBA star Tyrese Haliburton.

“There’s a new shooter from Indiana,” Miller said. “I’m the third-best shooter in the state of Indiana now. It goes Caitlin, Tyrese and now, myself. Knicks fans, here, she’s taking over for me right now.”

"I'm the 3rd-best shooter in the state of Indiana now."

Reggie Miller continues to commend current NBA and WNBA stars.

Reggie Miller compared Caitlin Clark to Payton Pritchard

During the broadcast, Reggie Miller was put in the hot seat when he was asked to give an NBA comparison to Caitlin Clark. To everyone’s surprise, Miller did not name a star. Instead, he compared the former Iowa star to Boston Celtics guard Payton Pritchard.

“I like Payton Pritchard from Boston,” Miller said. “The way he’s able to handle the basketball, he makes big shots when the shot clock is running down. A lot like this young lady right here.”

Clark couldn’t help but hide her reaction. But the WNBA star remained still and waited for Miller to finish his thought.
