Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards is grabbing headlines again, but this time it’s off the court. His ex-girlfriend, Ayesha Howard, has reportedly demanded a hefty $500,000 payment and a public apology before signing off on full custody of their daughter, born in October 2024.
Court documents—filed in Los Angeles on August 6—allege Edwards’ team removed clauses preventing Howard from speaking ill of him or posting photos of their daughter. But Howard then allegedly added these financial and public apology demands. Attorneys for Edwards describe the request as “exorbitant,” saying he now faces prolonged legal fees.

Howard reportedly stated that Edwards “does not want anything to do with my child… Aubri hasn’t seen him… never.” She claimed that custody could be anywhere—Earth or Mars—without affecting his involvement.
This isn’t the first time “Ant-Man” has had a messy family spotlight. Last year, he was part of a high-profile paternity case for his daughter Aislynn. And earlier, another ex claimed he pressured her into an abortion. On top of that, Page Six reports Ayesha denied rumors that Edwards paid $1 million upfront for child support, calling them “lies.”

As the legal battle heats up, the court must determine whether Edwards must comply with Howard’s demands to finalize custody, or find another path. In the end, it’s their daughter, Aubri, who deserves stability. And as the season continues on the court, Anthony Edwards is facing one of his most public challenges to date.
Anthony Edwards Custody Woes Continue As Ayesha Howard Ups The Ante
Anthony Edwards is back in the news—not for his on-court moves, but for a custody battle that’s turning costly. In recent filings, his ex, Ayesha Howard, is said to be holding out on signing full custody papers unless Edwards meets her demands: a $500,000 payment and a public apology.
This dramatic demand has fueled a wave of online criticism. One user on Reddit summed it up bluntly: “He did this to himself,” as fans debated who’s to blame for the mess.

But there’s more context here. In April, Howard dismissed rumors that Edwards had offered $1 million upfront for child support, calling them “fake news.” It’s just another twist in a saga involving paternity suits, other children, and allegations that Edwards pressured an ex into an abortion.
For now, custody hangs in the balance. Either Anthony Edwards will agree to meet Howard’s conditions, or the court will decide what’s fair. No matter what, the focus should remain on providing a stable life for their daughter, Aubri. Between his NBA breakout season and personal drama, Edwards is being tested both on and off the court—and the court of public opinion is watching.
