Michael Jordan is continuing to win hearts off the court, this time after it was reported that he donated $10 million to Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in honor of his mother, Deloris.

For the donation, the new neuroscience institute of the health center will be named after Deloris, which has been lauded by numerous fans who are in awe of the baller’s generosity. This is not the first time that Jordan has partnered with this healthcare group, with Jordan making several sizable donations over the years.

“Big things are happening in Wilmington! Basketball legend Michael Jordan has announced a $10 million gift to Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in honor of his mother, Deloris. In recognition, the medical center’s neuroscience institute will be named the Novant Health Deloris Jordan Neuroscience Institute. The specific goal: to advance research and innovation in brain health. This investment builds on a long-standing partnership between Jordan and Novant Health, which began with the creation of four Novant Health Michael Jordan Family Medical Clinics that provide essential primary and preventive care in underserved communities in Wilmington and Charlotte.” Novant Health wrote in their Instagram post.

Michael Jordan Compared To LeBron James After Season Debut

Michael Jordan has long been debated to be the GOAT in basketball by a large percentage of fans. However, another strong percentage feel that LeBron James is the GOAT in the game, with both fan groups often taking shots at each other.

With James finally making his season debut for the Lakers a day earlier, fans immediately took to the comments to compare the hooper with Jordan. James only managed 11 points for the team after he made his return to the court after struggling with sciatica. Many fans of the Lakers legend trolled MJ that an injured James is the same as the retired hooper when he was in his prime.

Of course, there were also many who felt that James’s return to the Lakers is not a good sign for the team, especially since the team is doing so well right now with Luka Doncic leading on the scoreboard.
