Norman Powell has been vocal about him being deserving of an All-Star nod and the Miami Heat has been collecting endorsement from prominent personalities. The latest to rally behind him is Indiana Pacers coach Rick Carlisle who said he will cast his vote for the veteran.

“Norman Powell is such an important player for them,” said Carlisle after their win over the Heat last Saturday.
“Powell to me is an All-Star this year; he’ll get a vote from me. I have no problem saying it publicly. He’s been really tremendous this year for them.”

Pacers manhandled the Heat this weekend and huge part of that is containing Powell who was limited to 6 points.

The former Clippers is averaging 23.8 points per game. He is the Heat’s top scorer and carrying the load for the team that sees Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo in and out of the line up.
Miami Heat health update
Powell’s momentum to the All-Star was disrupted last week. He struggled versus Pacers and was made available in loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder due to back problems.
The team suffered three straight losses and they are raring to get back to the winning column this week which according to head coach Erik Spoelstra will be important for them.

Will Powell be able to rejoin them? It’s not a good news so far.
The Miami Heat could be without their leading scorer for the second-straight game tomorrow night against the Phoenix Suns.
After missing the Heat’s loss Sunday to the Oklahoma City Thunder, Norman Powell is questionable against Phoenix with low back soreness.
Also out for them are Herro (right big toe and rib contusion) and Pelle Larsson (left third mallet finger).
