Alperen Sengun finally had an okay night when the Houston Rockets got a big win over the Western Conference’s no. 1 team Oklahoma City Thunder, which played without their superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
Last week was something he probably wanted to forget as his team did not just lose games they were supposed to win. He also struggled. That was not the biggest issue though. His heated moment with a referee made him unpopular for a time.

The Turkish big man was ejected in their loss to the Boston Celtics after shouting profanity at a female referee identified as Jenna Reneau. He called her the B-word and some thought ejection was not enough.
Popular NBA X account Legenz Prod shared what went on between the Rockets star and the referee. It appeared that calling the official the B-word once was not enough.
What Alperen Sengun Really Said To A Female Referee👀:
Sengun: “He’s up on me.. you a b*tch! F*cking b*tch”
Brown: “Woah! Hey, get him out of here!”
Ref: “He can’t call me that, no!”
As he was getting ejected, Sengun called her a b*tch for a third time. pic.twitter.com/UPkLYsQynK

Sengun was ejected for the incident and Rockets lost despite Celtics missing their MVP candidate Jaylen Brown.

Alperen Sengun, referee patched things up
Sengun apologized for the incident saying it was just something that he said because of high emotions.
“That was immature by me,” he told reporters. “That was just in the moment, and I said some stuff I shouldn’t say, but I felt bad about it.”
“Sometimes you can’t control yourself, but I should have known better. But I fixed it and then I went to the locker room and I apologized.”

He also said that he personally apologized to Reneau and that they are on good terms now.
“I shake [her] hand and said that would never happen again. It just happened in the heat of the moment. Then she understood, and it was good on both ends.”
