Reed Sheppard may have had a low-to-mid 2024-25 season as a third overall pick but things are looking good for him now. He scored in double digits in the las three games and they went 2-1 in that span.

One of his best games so far was the most recent one when they stole the win at Milwaukee Bucks and him playing until the final buzzer.
The second year guard is finding his niche with the team and that’s the collective trajectory of the Rockets. They are still growing.
“As a team, we are becoming more and more comfortable with each other on and off the court. So really, just having confidence and trusting each other to get better and keep playing,” he said during an interview with Michael Shapiro at the Hoop Troops event.
In the same video, he was asked about the praise he received from his teammate Kevin Durant that he even got posted in his IG story.

“That was cool. That was funny.”
I asked Reed Sheppard about this moment today. Sheppard added he saw the postgame IG post from @KDTrey5 https://t.co/tURewrg46u pic.twitter.com/my5e8IP5xY

Reed Sheppard is the spark plug
The Rockets were all fired up after the win versus the Bucks and Durant has Sheppard to thank for that. He had great defensive plays and made clutch shots to keep them within range against the Giannis Antetokounmpo-led team.
Durant thought the guard will be their spark plug the rest of the way.

He was the reason why we won this game. That backtap to get the steal and then hit the 3 in the corner… I think that’s what got us going, and it put a little bit of fear in their hearts, as well. Because they had some momentum, and I think that changed the momentum for us.
Reed is going to be that spark plug that we need, and tonight was one of those nights.
The Rockets are navigating this season without Fred VanVleet and Sheppard just became more important than ever.
