Ron Harper, former Chicago Bulls player, didn’t exactly like the adult toy incident during Tuesday’s game between the Phoenix Mercury and the Connecticut Sun. Now that the authorities have captured the culprit, Harper, along with fans, wants to see real consequences handed down.

On X/Twitter, Harper went full throttle to Kaden Lopez, the man behind the incident, writing, “Give him jail time…” calling out to make him face justice. Lopez, now on prosecution, faces charges of assault and disorderly conduct after pulling a green dildo from his pocket and launching it to the court, striking a man and his niece at the front row.
According to investigators, Lopez was “very sorry” and explained that he was just joining the concerning trend of throwing dildos during WNBA games, saying, “It was just a stupid prank that was trending on social media.” He claimed he bought the adult toy the previous day before the Mercury-Sun game and never intended to hit anyone. However, he still hasn’t escaped the fury of the victims, as they want to press charges.
Even the fans, not just Ron Harper, were disappointed with the incident.
“Send a message gotta let these idiots know it’s real consequences to this stupid s***,” one remarked.

“What a loser. These women need to be protected. Needs to be locked up,” one added.
“Should be sexual assault he’s being charged with,” one commented.

Lopez was just one of the people who were caught by authorities flinging adult toys. Last August 2, Delbert Carver allegedly threw a green dildo–the usual one being thrown into WNBA games– during the Golden State Valkyries’ game against Atlanta. Carver was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, gaining everyone’s fury, but was released on Sunday.
Ron Harper defends WNBA players following adult toy incident
Ron Harper wasn’t silent when he heard of Sophie Cunningham getting another dildo incident, this time on Tuesday. Cunningham, Indiana Fever veteran, once pleaded to fans to stop the mischievous behavior, which she soon followed with “this did NOT age well” on X after her incident.
However, Ron Harper wasn’t buying into the trend, commenting “Have some damn respect for the ladies and the games….” on Cunningham’s post. Harper, in fact, publicly spoke sometimes about what’s up with the WNBA, such as when he defended Caitlin Clark during the offseason.

The WNBA dildo incidents became viral recently, causing ruckus and interruptions during crucial games. Many fans debated this online, with a majority arguing, sometimes trolling, that like incidents are just a blunt way to boost viewership in the league, but some still point out the danger and indecent acts done by such incidents.
