The Miami Heat are rumored to be buyers in the looming NBA trade deadline. Among the names mentioned and linked to the franchise is Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Greek star is in a rocky situation with the Bucks this season. With an 11-16 record, the hope of being a contender is almost out of the window.
Teams are keeping an eye on Antetokounmpo’s circumstances in Milwaukee to see how things develop. NBA insider Brett Siegel reported that Miami could give a massive trade package that includes Tyler Herro, Kel’el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Terry Rozier and multiple first-round draft picks for the Bucks star.
Amid the trade rumors with the Heat, The Stein Line’s Jake Fischer reported on Tuesday that the team is linked to another star. Fischer named Dallas Mavericks star Anthony Davis as a target for Miami. That is, if things don’t work out well with the Bucks.
“Miami I don’t believe would make an all out effort for AD right now until they know for sure Giannis isn’t for the taking but that pairing of Bam/AD…I would not rule that out as a scenario,” Fischer reported about the one-time NBA champion.
The Miami Heat could pursue Anthony Davis if Giannis is unavailable, per @JakeLFischer

While not Antetokounmpo, Davis still brings a strong two-way play that could improve Miami’s frontcourt.
Dwyane Wade called out the Heat for their NBA Cup efforts against the Magic

The Miami Heat had a chance to advance to the NBA Cup semifinals when they faced the Orlando Magic. However, things didn’t go their way, and they suffered a 117-108 loss. Dwyane Wade, a former NBA player and franchise great, was disappointed in the team’s effort.
On Monday’s episode of the “Wy Network by Dwyane Wade,” the three-time champion spoke about his thoughts on Miami’s loss.
“I was pissed off watching the effort that night, I didn’t like it,” Wade said. “I’m yelling at the TV ‘Y’ALL DON’T WANT TO GO TO VEGAS?’ I need better effort. I’m used to Miami Heat team having resilience, that’s who we are. We’re resilient. If me and [Udonis Haslem] were together we would’ve tore some s**t up.” Wade said.
Miami’s legend wants to see more from the players and how they execute their plays. Unfortunately for them, their bid for the NBA Cup is over.
