Russell Westbrook used to put up triple-doubles in his sleep. Those days are over, though, as further exemplified in the Denver Nuggets‘ season-opening loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder at home Thursday night. Making his first regular-season game appearance for the Nuggets, Westbrook came off the bench and provided just six points on 10 attempts from the field.
Westbrook’s infamous inefficient shooting was on full display against the Thunder, as he went just 2-for-10 overall from the floor and 1-for-6 from behind the arc. Even on freebies, the former NBA Most Valuable Player had trouble making baskets, as he hit just one of his four tries from the free-throw line.
Fans clown Russell Westbrook’s stats in his Denver Nuggets debut
Westbrook, who posted just 45.4 percent from the field and 27.3 percent while also recording a poor 51.4 true shooting percentage in the 2023-24 NBA season with the Los Angeles Clippers, surely did not help himself prevent his critics from mocking him further online.

For what it’s worth, even the player Westbrook was backing up in the OKC game had an atrocious shooting performance, as Jamal Murray connected on only four of his 13 attempt from the floor.
