An NBA team hasn’t shown interest in signing Russell Westbrook to a potential contract. Last season, Westbrook was with the Denver Nuggets as the team’s sixth man. Heading into free agency, the star guard declined his $3.4 million player option and became a free agent. However, he hasn’t gotten any serious offers from other organizations.
There were rumors over the summer that the Sacramento Kings wanted to sign him to a potential deal. However, that never took off, and the Kings settled with Dennis Schroder. Westbrook was also mentioned as a potential free agent signing for the New York Knicks. Unfortunately for the nine-time All-Star, the Knicks signed guards Jordan Clarkson and Malcolm Brogdon.
Until now, no team has reached out or shown interest in signing the former regular-season MVP. Despite that, Westbrook is still determined in playing in the NBA and not continue his career elsewhere.

According to Marc Stein, Russell Westbrook isn’t willing to move on from the NBA. Stein reported that Westbrook and his camp are focused on securing a potential deal in the league.
“There has been ‘zero discussion’ to date about him weighing interest to play abroad this season, league sources say,” Stein reported.
“He’d naturally generate a slew of overseas offers if he was open to them, but I’m told that securing his next NBA opportunity has been the focus for Westbrook’s camp. Even if that means, as it increasingly appears, options fail to materialize until after the 2025-26 regular season starts on Oct. 21.”
Although Westbrook has been past his prime for quite some time now, he’s still a productive player. Last season, he appeared in 75 games, averaging 13.3 points, 4.9 rebounds and 6.1 assists.
The Kings and Russell Westbrook have “mutual interest”

The Kings need a strong backup point guard to assist Schroder. One name that has been linked to the organization is Russell Westbrook. According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Sacramento team and Westbrook have mutual interest in a potential deal.
“I’m told there is strong mutual interest between Russell Westbrook and the Sacramento Kings,” Charania said. “The Kings have a need for a reserve point guard… He’s got relationships across that organization. Domantas Sabonis he’s close with, played with him. He played with Dennis Schroder as well. DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine, they have LA ties.

“[Kings assistant general manager] B.J. Armstrong. He knows B.J. from the agency side, and he has respect for Scott Perry, [the Kings’] new general manager, and Doug Christie, their new head coach. We’ll see if a deal gets done before the start of the season, or during the upcoming season.”
