Russell Westbrook’s NBA career is one of ups and downs with enough material to cover a New York Times Bestseller.
From his Baby Thunder days with James Harden and Kevin Durant to his years being a reliable option off the bench in recent years, the Brodie has everything but a ring to show for his Hall of Fame-worthy career.

He’s still onto that dream of his as he serves as a rotation option for Mike Malone’s Denver Nuggets. Playing alongside Nikola Jokic will bring him closer to his dreams of a championship, but he understands that the gauntlet of the Western Conference will not be easy.
This is why he was extremely happy when his current team took down his former squad that many see as heavy favorites to possibly win the NBA Finals.
Russell Westbrook’s epic message after the Nuggets beat the Thunder

Westbrook didn’t have to say much after his Nuggeta narrowly took down the Thunder in a tense but fun game for the Ball Arena crowd.
Per Athlon Sports’ Arjun Julka:
“Right now they got the best record but I feel like we got the better team and tonight we showed that.”
Westbrook enjoyed his best scoring performance of the season against his former team, scoring 29 points on an efficient 10-for-15 clip. He complemented his scoring with six boards, six dimes, and a steal.
Meanwhile, the Joker had another monster triple-double of 23 points, 20 rebounds, and 16 assists on 45% shooting.
On the other hand, Jalen Williams led Westbrook’s former team with a near-triple double of 29 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists. SGA pitched in with 28 points and six dimes, while Chet Holmgren had an off night offensively with 15 points on 5-for-14 shooting.
The Brodie and the Thunder will always be connected

Russell Westbrook may have said such a message abut his former team, but his bond with OKC won’t be tarnished in any other way.
Westbrook spent 11 years in Oklahoma, winning eight All-Star nods and his regular-season MVP there while being a virtual triple-double machine. He was the only athlete out of the three to stay out of KD and the Beard, and there’s no question that his jersey will be retired by the time he calls it a career.
Until such a time happens, Brodie will use every method available to give the Nuggets the edge even if he has to go against his former team.
