The Sacramento Kings are off to a horrific 3-13 start this season, and veteran forward DeMar DeRozan didn’t mince words when he was asked about the team’s morale, following their 137-96 blowout defeat against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday.

As of this writing, the Sacramento Kings are 14th in the Western Conference, ahead of only the 2-14 New Orleans Pelicans. Their eight-game losing skid is their longest drought since the 2021-22 campaign.
“In a s**tty place,” DeRozan said via Chris Biderman of The Sacramento Bee. “Don’t nobody want to lose the way we’ve been losing.”

“I think it’s just everything right now for us is just s**tty, honestly,” he added. “Sometimes when you’re in the deep end, it’s hard to hear anything. You’re just trying to swim your way out, one way or another.”
Sacramento Kings News: Doug Christie in a somber mood after humiliating defeat
Doug Christie couldn’t hide his frustrations during the postgame press conference of the Sacramento Kings-Memphis Grizzlies game. However, instead of chewing out his players, the head coach chose to take the high road.

“It’s not where you just continue to go down that hole. They know the message. What I’m saying to you isn’t necessarily what I said to them, but you’re not in the locker room, so that’s not privy to everybody,” Christie explained.
“We know that Domas is out. Keegan’s just coming back. There’s a lot of different things that have transpired that we’re just trying to work through on the fly. It’s not an excuse. It’s just a reality of what it is,” he concluded.
