Dennis Schroder could add a piece of silverware to his trophy case before he plays for the Sacramento Kings this upcoming season, as he leads a stacked Germany national team in this year’s FIBA EuroBasket tournament.

Germany feels confident about their chances after winning three of its four exhibition games before the continental tournament, so Schroder recently dropped a bold warning for his opponents.

“We will win the title. If I weren’t convinced of that, I wouldn’t play in the tournament and would rather spend my time in Braunschweig,” Schroder declared via HoopsHype.

Schroder is one of the Sacramento Kings’ marquee acquisitions this offseason, alongside Dario Saric and Drew Eubanks. The one-time FIBA World Cup MVP is fresh from a productive 2024-25 campaign, having averaged 13.1 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 5.4 assists across 75 regular season appearances with the Brooklyn Nets, Golden State Warriors, and Detroit Pistons.

Sacramento Kings reportedly “active” in shopping former Sixth Man of the Year finalist

The Sacramento Kings are reportedly planning to shake up their backcourt rotation by attempting to trade Malik Monk to make room for signing free agent guard Russell Westbrook.

“The Sacramento Kings have been ‘trying very hard’ to trade Malik Monk this offseason, but they haven’t found a taker,” wrote NBA insider Grant Afseth.

“The Kings have been trying to trade Monk to open up a spot for Russell Westbrook, who is an unrestricted free agent. Sacramento wants to sign Westbrook and bring him off the bench as its sixth man behind Dennis Schroder,” he added.
