ESPN writer Tim Bontemps believes that Sacramento Kings guard Dennis Schroder could, one day, enter the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame for his international resume, despite being an NBA journeyman.

“Dennis Schroder is going to make the Hall of Fame, and I think he’s definitely going to make the Hall of Fame if they win this tournament, which is going to cause people to go berserk,” Bontemps said on The Hoops Collective podcast. “It’s a World Basketball Hall of Fame of all levels.”
“When you look at Dennis Schroder’s international career, I think if they win this tournament, he’s going to make the Hall of Fame eventually as an international entry, which will, I’m sure, cause people to go crazy,” he continued. “But he’s got a pretty damn good international resume if they win this thing.”

The Sacramento Kings guard helped Germany win the FIBA World Cup in 2023 and was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player for his efforts. He also made it to the All-Tournament team in EuroBasket 2022 after guiding Germany to a bronze medal finish.
