The Kings survived another huge game from MVP frontrunner Nikola Jokic who had 44 points, huge thanks to their efficient play and great late game execution. The team only had six turnovers the whole game against their hosts’ 16.
Head coach Doug Christie is praiseful of the team’s effort to always look for the best shot without overdoing it.
“One of our principles is you want to get to the paint… once that’s done, explore. If you have it, great. If you don’t, kick it back out,” he told reporters after the game.
Russell Westbrook, who led his team with 21 points while also adding 11 assists, also got nice words from his coach for his leadership and passion for the game.

“Just watching Russ over all the years, the passion and aggression that he plays with is special… he found a game and helped us quite handily,” Christie said.
The win comes off of team’s eight-game losing streak with many players feeling down already.
Keegan Murray paying Sacramento Kings’ faith
Murray has only played two games so far after opting to have an offseason thumb surgery. The Kings know what he is capable of by giving him a five-year $140 million extension.
He gave them what the team is asking for him in those two games he’s played. He scored 19 points and played 37 minutes against the Nuggets. He also had two assists and one block.
Christie highlighted the importance of their 2022 fourth overall pick on both ends of the floor.

“Keegan is a big part of what we do, our foundation moving forward,” he said.
“He started guarding Murray right off the bat… he shoots the ball at a high clip, rebounds, everything that we are about as Sacramento Kings basketball, Keegan is a shining example of that.”
The Kings will try to continue their winning streak on Monday when they face the Minnesota Timberwolves who beat them twice already with an average of 25.5 lead.
