The Sacramento Kings have entered the Josh Giddey trade rumors.
The Chicago Bulls guard still hasn’t signed a new contract with the team this offseason. Giddey is still a restricted free agent and seeks a contract that would allow him to earn at least $30 million per season. While that’s going on with the Bulls, a Western Conference team has emerged as a potential trade partner to acquire the Australian guard.
According to Allen Stiles, Giddey could be part of a trade with the Kings. Although there have been talks of Giddey possibly signing a contract with the Golden State Warriors, they may have to fight if the Kings join the fray.
Earlier this offseason, Giddey was in talks regarding a sign-and-trade with the Warriors. During the 2021 NBA draft, Golden State was reportedly interested in drafting the 6-foot-6 guard. However, the Oklahoma City Thunder used their No. 6 pick to draft the guard.

In the recent episode of “The Allen Stiles Show,” the insider talked about how it wouldn’t come as a surprise for the Sacramento Kings to trade for Giddey.
“From what I’ve heard and from those that do tend to be in the know,” Stiles said, “they would not be surprised if the Kings were one of those teams. Now, obviously Josh Giddy is a guard and they do have Dennis Schroder on this three-year deal, but everything that the Kings have done to this point this offseason have told us that they are open to everything.”
Last season, the Kings traded their longtime star guard, De’Aaron Fox, to the San Antonio Spurs. Due to this move, the organization is looking to address the needed depth in its backcourt. This is also why Sacramento signed veteran guard Dennis Schroder to a three-year contract.
Sabonis had a puzzling response to the Sacramento Kings’ offseason moves

The Sacramento Kings had an interesting offseason based on the moves they made. The organization added Schroder this summer, given its need to strengthen its backcourt. The Kings also signed center Drew Eubanks to a one-year contract. The team also acquired Dario Saric via a trade with the Denver Nuggets. Lastly, they re-signed Doug McDermott.
The Kings didn’t make any big adjustments this summer, based on their actions. Center Domantas Sabonis was asked about his thoughts on what the team did. The three-time All-Star gave a vague answer regarding the team’s moves.
“A lot has changed,” Sabonis said. “A lot’s probably still going to change, so we’re just gonna wait and see ‘til training camp.”

The Kings missed the postseason last year, and there weren’t any improvements made to the roster. With Sabonis’ comments, it looks like Sacramento isn’t done making moves.
