The Sacramento Kings suffered a 131-94 home loss to the Orlando Magic on Thursday night, marking their 15th consecutive loss, setting a dubious franchise record. They haven’t won a game since beating the Washington Wizards on January 16.
The record-setting defeat didn’t sit well with everyone, including Keegan Murray, who suited up for the first time since January 4 due to a serious ankle injury.
“It’s tough. I don’t really have words to explain it, to be honest. I don’t know if anyone has words to explain what’s transpired these last three or four years, but obviously, we’ve got to change something because this obviously can’t happen. Not many teams in NBA history have gone 15 straight losses in a row,” Murray said via The Sacramento Bee.
The injury bug has ravaged the Sacramento Kings during their recent run of futility, as they lost Zach LaVine (finger) and Domantas Sabonis (knee), who were declared out for the rest of the season, and Dylan Cardwell, who’s expected to miss at least one month due to a left ankle sprain.

Sacramento Kings News: Doug Christie voices his frustration after hitting new franchise low
Sacramento Kings head coach Doug Christie sent out a defiant message during his postgame presser of last night’s blowout loss, reiterating that the fans deserve better from his players.
“I’ve been here for the best and been here for the worst, so I know what both of them look like, and our fans deserve more, and we’ll get there,” Christie said via Sactown Sports 1140AM. “It’s about as painful as it gets.”
“The pain that I felt here was something that, you know, in my opinion, it can affect your life in many ways. Knowing that you have the best team, and you don’t, you don’t get there,” he continued. “A lot of that is definitely part of what drives me every day to get up, because I know what can happen here. I know what it looks like, I know what it feels like.”
