Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander gave the San Antonio Spurs their due following last night’s 117-102 Christmas Day home loss, which marked their third defeat against them this season.
“They’re just a good basketball team. They know how to play. They have talent. They play the right way. They play together. When you mix those things together for any basketball team, you win games,” Gilgeous-Alexander said via The Oklahoman’s Justin Martinez.
“Everybody picks up a basketball and wants to win, and they’re going to test themselves against us,” he continued. “Now, the San Antonio Spurs have passed that test three times in a row… They’ve been better than us three times now, so we’ve got to look in the mirror and figure it out.”
De’Aaron Fox stole the show on Thursday night by dropping 29 points, four rebounds, and three assists on 12-for-19 shooting from the field. Victor Wembanyama, Stephon Castle, Harrison Barnes, and Dylan Harper added 19, 19, 15, and 12 points, respectively, to lead the San Antonio Spurs to victory.

San Antonio Spurs News: Victor Wembanyama and De’Aaron Fox discuss beating the Oklahoma City Thunder
San Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyama said he is enjoying facing the Oklahoma City Thunder three times in two weeks, as it gives him a playoff feeling, which he has yet to experience in his young NBA career. Meanwhile, De’Aaron Fox is happy to get his first Christmas Day victory.
“This is like a playoff series. We played them (Thunder) three times in 10 days,” Wembanyama said via Jeff Garcia of KENS5. “All of us are happy to come into work. We know we’re going to have fun, we know we’re going to go out there and produce competitive basketball. So we’re just so lucky, and we want to entertain this.”
“This being my first Christmas game, I just wanted to have a good game and come out with a win. I think we did that, and we did it from the jump, you know, outside of the first couple possessions, I think we were really good throughout the course of the game,” Fox continued.
