The San Antonio Spurs haven’t made it to the postseason since the 2018-19 season, and Harrison Barnes hopes the team ends their playoff drought next season.
The one-time NBA champion believes they can make noise in 2025-26, but it all starts in the offseason, where he and his younger teammates must put in the work.
“The biggest thing for a team that wants to make a jump is the commitment level. How much do guys want to be a part of what they’re going to be watching here in these next couple of months,” Barnes said via ClutchPoints’ Hector Ledesma.
“What are you going to do in the off-season and your preparation to get that point, to put yourself in position to be at that point. A lot of people just assume that come October, ‘I’m going to be ready to go,’ but this is where the growth happens. October is simply where it’s acknowledged. For us, this summer is a big summer to just continue to get better on and off the court,” he continued.

Wemby’s recent workout images have surfaced on the internet, and it’s clear he has been in the gym because he noticeably put on more muscle, a scary prospect for his opponents next season once he’s 100 percent fit.
The young Frenchman averaged 24.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.1 steals, and 3.8 blocks on 47.6 percent shooting from the field across 46 regular season appearances in 2024-25.
