If there’s one thing the San Antonio Spurs are doing well, it’s finding talented big men with exemplary character who can lead them on and off the floor.
The current iteration of this proud Spurs tradition is Victor Wembanyama. The Frenchman, who is likely winning Rookie of the Year, is so focused on improving his game that he’s not interested in distracting activities.
David Robinson and Tim Duncan are the other iconic big men for the Spurs not named Wembanyama. They have been consummate professionals on and off the court, and fans rarely hear anything about the two after retiring from the hardwood.
However, Duncan would be the more interesting figure between the two Spurs legends. The way he’s changed up his look after calling it a career is so shocking that some fans couldn’t get over how Duncan is presenting himself.

Duncan was present when the Denver Nugets took down the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 5. While many are speculating over how the future would look like for the Purple and Gold, some fans couldn’t get over how wild Duncan looks nowadays.
The Big Fundamental was spotted in the game rocking a full beard and dreadlocks, wildly different from his days as a Spur where he wore his hair short.
While Duncan has looked like this for a while now, fans couldn’t help but comment on his new look.
Per The Spun’s Chris Rosvoglou:
“If Tim Duncan had played his whole career with dreads and a beard I would have liked him way more,” one fan tweeted.
Another person said, “Tim Duncan is from the Caribbean. Why do people act surprised that he looks like an older, Caribbean man?”
“It’s crazy how Tim’s ‘newer’ look is what younger folks will know him for,” a third social media user commented. “I wonder what they think of a highlight reel of someone putting in work using the glass the whole time.”
The change may be attributed to some sort of a mid-life crisis that’s evident among Duncan’s peers. However, the five-time champion shouldn’t have that many issues when it comes to how his life is at the moment.

Moreover, Duncan has earned the right to style himself however he wants. In his 19-year career with the San Antonio Spurs, he’s averaged 19.0 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 3.0 assists a game. He’s also shown himself to be one of the most humble stars the NBA has ever seen.
The reason for this look may be Timmy letting loose after devoting a huge chunk of his life to basketball. If Wemby is strictly following in Tim Duncan’s footsteps, it may not be strange to see him end up like this in twenty years as well.
