It’s difficult to make choices on the spot. Victor Wembanyama, a star for the San Antonio Spurs, learned that when fans asked him a certain question during a live question-and-answer session on the team’s Instagram account. Wemby was asked to choose between five-time NBA champion Kobe Bryant and Spurs legend Tim Duncan. Even when answering the question, he admitted that it was tough to answer.

Both Bryant and Duncan finished their careers as five-time champions. In the 2000s, both stars led their respective teams to multiple title wins. The Spurs legend was the first to win in 1999, which was his second season in the NBA. That was followed by three straight wins by the Los Angeles Lakers, led by the duo of the Black Mamba and Shaquille O’Neal.

Duncan added three titles to his name in 2003, 2005 and 2007. Bryant led the Lakers to back-to-back titles in 2009 and 2010 after that, completing his five championships. The Big Fundamental, on the other hand, helped an aging Spurs team beat the Miami Heat in 2014.

Given the tough competition between the two, it made it harder for the San Antonio Spurs star to make his choice. Eventually, Wemby named the late Lakers star as the better all-time player.

“Tim Duncan or Kobe [Bryant]?” Wemby read. “Tough question. Probably Kobe, all-time.

However, it didn’t take long for Wemby to retract his answer.

    “Actually, I don’t know.”

Both players have made serious contributions to the NBA, making it tougher to make a choice.

This offseason, the San Antonio Spurs star was active. He traveled, worked out with NBA legends and enjoyed his free time. His recent workout was with former Houston Rockets star Hakeem Olajuwon. The Dream is known to have worked out with several other players.

Bryant, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and Dwight Howard all took time off their offseason to learn from the two-time champion. Now, that wisdom was passed on to Wemby, who was eager to learn from one of the best centers of all time.

However, Olajuwon revealed that he initially rejected the workout request from Wemby. According to him, he told the youngster that he didn’t need the workout and that he had all the tools to be better.

“He asked about that by the way, I told him, ‘You got everything already… just have fun out there.’ He has everything, and more. I said, ‘You don’t need it’, he said, ‘Well, I’d love to learn anyway’,” the former Rockets star said.

Hakeem Olajuwon met Victor Wembanyama for the first time Monday, and was impressed.

Olajuwon was impressed by how humble the young star was, especially the way he was attentive to what he taught him.
