The San Antonio Spurs have ruled out Victor Wembanyama for their upcoming NBA Cup quarterfinals match against the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night, as the team doesn’t plan to rush the star center back.

Wembanyama has been out due to a left calf strain he sustained in a loss to the Golden State Warriors last November 14. However, in his absence, the San Antonio Spurs won eight of the 11 games he missed, including a pair of NBA Cup group stage games against the Portland Trail Blazers and the Denver Nuggets.
“We won’t treat that game, medically speaking, any different,” Johnson said of Wembanyama earlier this week via Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio Express-News.

“As we’ve seen around this league recently, the calf tightness thing is not something you want to take lightly,” Johnson said recently. “We don’t want to push it there.”
San Antonio Spurs News: Dylan Harper gaining confidence after career-high performance vs. New Orleans Pelicans
The San Antonio Spurs secured a 135-132 win against the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday, as Dylan Harper posted his career-high in points in his young NBA career. The No. 2 pick dropped 22 points, three rebounds, and six assists on 10-for-16 shooting in 26 minutes off the bench.

“At the beginning of the year, I was a little iffy, a little hesitant, like, ‘Yeah, I’m the new guy. I’m trying to figure it out,” Harper told ESPN’s Michael C. Wright. “But as the season kept going, my teammates and coaches just encouraged me to be me. Plays like that just show that I’m gonna attack the rim no matter what.”
“He’s just fearless, touching the paint whenever, finding a shot at will,” Stephon Castle said of Harper.
